1905 - First services held at 55th Street and Wabash as "The Washington Park Mission".
1906 - Name changed to "Saint Edmund's Mission". Moved to 55th and State Streets.
1908 - First Service held in newly acquired building at 5831 South Indiana Avenue.
1928 - Samuel Joseph Martin, Following his ordination at Deacon, was assigned to St. Edmund's Mission.
1929 - Samuel J. Martin ordained as Priest and assigned to St. Edmund's Church as Priest-in- charge.
1940 - St. Edmund's Mission achieved Parish status.
1941 - Father Martin called to be Rector of the Parish by the first Vestry, and instituted as Rector.
1945 - Acquired and moved to present structure at 6105 South Michigan Avenue.
1948 - Establishment of the St. Edmund's Parochial School. St. Edmund's Church Credit Union
1950 - Father Richard T. Middleton, the first Curate, succeeded by
1952 - Father David N. Harris, who was succeeded by
1955 - Father Isaac McDonald.
1965 - Retirement of Father McDonald as curate.
1970 - Retirement of Father Martin. Father Raymond Mitchell, instituted as Rector.
1985 - Retirement of Father Mitchell.
1986 - Canon Chester A. LaRue Jr. appointed Interim priest-in-charge.
1987 - Canon Henry Stines appointed priest-in-charge.
1988 - Father Robert Orpen appointed priest-in-charge.
1988 - Dr. Ruth Teena Williams appointed priest-in-charge.
1989 - Dr. Richard L. Tolliver instituted as Rector.
1990 - St. Edmund Redevelopment Corporation was founded.
1991 - Rev. D. Maria Neighbors appointed as Assistant to the Rector responsible for urban affairs.
Rehabilitated housing for the community
1993 - Acquired additional building for rehabilitation. Negotiating to build Senior Citizen housing.
2017 - Retirement of Father Tolliver
2017 - Father Errol Narain appointed as priest-in-residence
2020 - Father Shawn Evelyn appointed as priest-in-charge
