Ministries
Parishioners are encouraged to engage in a variety of expressions of discipleship in the parish community. A listing of the Guilds and Organizations are listed below. Click on any highlighted link to view a photo.
Sunday School and Nursery
Serves children ages 3 months to 3 years during the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist. Fulfills its mission to bring Christ to the lives of youth by actively spreading the Christian message in the community through Christian education in practical terms.
Church Acolytes
Assist the clergy in the conduct of worship services and serve as role models for other young adults.
Episcopal Church Women (ECW)
Provides a spiritual link for all women of the church and keep abreast of the programs from within the Diocese of Chicago, the National Church and with the greater Anglican Communion, both nationally and internationally.
Lay Eucharistic Ministry
Assist during the celebration of the Holy Communion and administer to members of the congregation who are sick and shut-in and unable to attend worship services.
The Men's Club
Encourages all men to participate in the church ministry and its programs.
St. Agatha's
Prepares for the worship services of the church, with the guild members serving God as caretakers of the altar and the Eucharistic table.
St. Edmund's Guild
Provides financial support to the church and to church activities.
St. Monica's Guild
Supports and encourages the youth to participate in the church ministries.
St. Veronica Guild
Involves women with diverse interests in the work of the parish and has dedicated itself to serving others both in and outside of the church.
Social Service Guild
Seeks to demonstrate Christian love by responding to the needs of the church and community both financially and through their mission to inspire and encourage others to take God into their lives.
Users and Greeters
Welcome and assist parishioners, visitors and potential new members at regular worship services, funerals and other special services.
Strategic Team Ministries
There are many ways to get involved at St. Edmund’s. Our vestry has identified five key strategic priorities that will continue to move our church forward. These teams are active and welcome new members:
