Our Values
We believe truth, honesty and integrity are key values necessary for the further development of St. Edmund’s as a spiritual community. We believe in God’s love. Therefore, we will demonstrate a Christ-like loving, acceptable attitudes toward all people and affirm that there are no outcasts in God’s kingdom.We believe in justice, equality and socioeconomic diversity. Therefore, we will promote programs that will create clean, affordable housing, access to quality education for everyone, outreach to the community and our commitment to the African Diaspora and its expression in our church.
We believe the kingdom of God calls for a just society. Therefore, we will work to eradicate injustices when they reveal themselves.
We believe spiritual growth is important for good health, peace of mind and developing a deeper relationship with God. Therefore, we will support activities that help individuals achieve this end.
Although our present membership is predominantly African-American, we affirm that the full body of Christ encompasses all people. Therefore, we welcome and embrace the diversity of the world and seek to fully include everyone in the life of the parish.
